Hello all. I have a 2000 F-250 SD CC W/PS 7.3. Everything works good except the dang interior light. It stays on all the time. Yes I made sure the constant on switch was off. My door ajar panel light appears to not work, I assumed it was a light but may be connected. Have no 2000 owners manual (just won one on ebay but don't have it yet) I know there are relays that control this light according to wiring diagram. If anyone know which and where the relays are located (under dash panel?) and if anyone heard of this problem and how to fix? When I put a bulb in (it was out when I bought it-go figure) sometimes it would half apper to work ie go out then on when door opens then stay on etc. Probrbly a relay but anyone had this same problem?
The door ajar sensors in the door latches have a habit of sticking. Give them a good spraying of WD40 followed by opening and closing the door a few times to see if that fixes it. If it doesn't, you're going to have to take the interior door panel off and give that sensor a good cleaning.
Thanks, i'll give it a try. I may need to take panel off anyway, my window seems to be sticking. Gotta luv bying a used truck. Saving 5K was worth it tho.
Don't need to take off door panel to fix/squirt the door latch. Just aim the WD40 nozzle at the door side of the latching section of the door and spray the hell out of it....open/close the door a bunch of times. If that didn't do it, wait a day and see if that fixed it. Sometimes it takes a couple of times of spraying.....
