tranny compatability
I am wanting to put the Mazda 5 speed from a 96 4x4 into a 92 2wd also with a mazda 5 speed. Both have 300 i-6 engines. Anyone know of any compatability problems or will everything just bolt up as far a the clutch and all. Thanks

the main problem is that the transfer case bolts to the back of the trans. if the transfer case is still on the trans, you will need the shorter driveshaft. if it is not on it, you will need to change the tail shaft of the trans to adapt it to the 4x2 configuration.

Sorry. I forgot to say I'm doing a 4x4 conversion on the 2wd. I will be putting the transfer case in it along with the rest of the drive train. I was just wondering if there would be any problem where the tranny bolts to the engine. Thanks
