i just bought a 05 f-250 6.0L diesel and want to do the cat delete pipe to get more flow, lower egt, and whistle from the turbo, (i already have the 4in t-409 mbrp cat back on.) what is your guys recommendation on the brand i should get. i seen on dppi's site the following:
Ford AFE 3.5 Inch T-409 Stainless Steel Cat Test/Delete Pipe #49-40028 $49.99. Is this a good deal and how hard or involved is it to get the stock cat off of my truck, it says it will bolt to stock systems and do i need any extra components when installing this on my truck? thanks for any info.
A lot of guys here run MBRP and i do also now. Removed my Banks system as it started to rust in some spots in less than a year. MBRP is quality stuff and i am happy with my system now.
I agree. I just recently installed MBRP 4" Turbo back on my truck and I asked Santa for the CAT delete pipe. I just went with the MBRP CAT delete since that is the system that I currently have. Should just fit right in with no extra mods. Cant wait till I get mine installed. Looking for the better sound.
I got the AFE for mine because at the time the MBRP pipe would not fit the stock down pipe. I think that is still the case. I have the MBRP cat back also in 409 SS and the afe delete pipe in aluminized steel. So far the only thing not rusted is the AFE delete pipe. Go figure.

409 SS is a low grade stainless and will rust on the surface. 304 or 321 SS is the good stuff and will not show signs of rust.
