Nick
P.S I know this is a engine forum but I relay like you guys down here.
Exactly like Tenn01PSD350 said. I just happen to have e-mailed this to a buddy of mine so I figured I'd post it for what it's worth.
1 Pull up and remove the two upper headlamp clips.
2 Release the lower headlamp clip.
3 Position the headlamp so the electrical connector can be accessed.
4 Disconnect the headlamp electrical connector.
Yes. Just the opposite of taking them out. Just make sure you get the bottom in first. Then push it back from the front while pushing the clips down. Makes it a lot easier on you and your headlamp.
Thanks for the diagram in post #7. My headlight lenses are so foggy they look like they have cataracts. Now that I know how to get them out my trunks gonna get some new eyeballs.
I posted this back in October if you might be interested in saving a few bucks.
<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top width="100%">I just reconditioned mine about a month ago and they look great. I got a kit at Advance Auto Parts, about $20, comes in a foil pouch, has 2 different grits of fine sandpaper, polishing compound and sealer, If you use it, DO NOT GET IN A HURRY WITH THE SANDING PART! The more time spent, the better the job! Once you sand them you are going to think you have completely ruined them until you apply the liquid sealer, but patient water sanding is the key to a great job. The package said about 5 minutes per lense I think, but the total job took me about an hour and a half. Mine were in pretty rough shape. I also done my wife's Jeep Cherokee, which were green, yellow, cloudy, etc. She couldn't hardly see how to drive at night, but they look great now for $20!
Permatex also makes a kit. I think it has 3 grits:1500,2000 & 2500 plus a polishing compound, at about the same price or maybe a little higher.
As someone else mentioned you might can try a compound and a buffer but be careful with damaging other plastic parts, paint etc. If that doesn't work, you have only wasted a little time and then you could use one of the kits if you want to.
Hope this helps! p.s. you can tell I'm a penny-pincher by not opting for new light fixtures, LOL, GOOD LUCK!
