Differences in 300HD vs LD
How can you tell if you have a 300HD or LD infront of you? By serial number? Can you only tell by opening her up? Did they put them in F-150s or just machines like woodchippers or other things like that?

Differences in 300HD vs LD
My '80 "Truck and Van" big book Chiltons lists 1978-80 heavy truck engine code "G" and 1979-80 light truck engine code "K" as HD 300's. Mine and most of them are light truck engine code "B" The cam gear on the HD is steel and bolted to the cam shaft, not pressed on.
