Dad's 99 PSD had the EBPV changed and now when it is cold and goes into the fast idle you can hear air being released like the turbo is dumping or something until it warms up. Now don't hear that on my 2000 and I did not hear that on my friend's 2001. I am wondering if that is normal?
Not trying to hyjack this thread but my buddy has a '99 and has a similar thing happening. When it is cold it will idle up and down and when you drive it it will surge up and down and sound like it is dumping air. It won't keep a steady speed while it is doing this unless you stomp on the pedal. It stops doing it when it is warm. I told him it probably has something to do with the EBPV but I am not sure because I have a '95 and am not sure how the newer 7.3's work.
