I have noticed that clifford makes an intake manifold for the 4.9L that is made to use three 500cfm two barrels.
I would really love to use this on my truck, and I just wanted to know if any of you have used this or what you guys think about using it.
what would be the advantages of using this over the one four barrel?
what would be some of the disadvantages?
any help would be greatly appreciated.
also, I am curious about supercharges, I have no problem saving up for a while, because Think it would be totally worth while. does anyone know anything about them for the 4.9?
3 500cfm sounds like overkill although it would look nice. The problem people have with a triple carb setup is tuning and that can become a big deal. I have seen mention of going with a larger carb, intake and headers on the carbed motors makes a huge difference I think one 500cfm should meet any needs. Good luck
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 21-Nov-01 AT 00:37 AM (EST)]Unles you race....i would just stick with the single 4 bbl. I did that...and still got 8 to 10 MPG with it! haha...but it ran like a bat out of hell with 33's and stock (crappy) 3.08 gears.....well vipers seem to do real well with em! haha...anyway...as for super chargers.....hum...well i have talked to a few places and both sugested that with carbs....a "Wet" charger probly wouldn't work to well.....Translated to "I own a V-8! And your nuts to even suggest the idea of forced induction on a panzy (donkey) like the 300ci motor! Be a real man and get a V-8 like me.....o yeah! Did i tell you I have SMALL HANDS and FEET??!!!" I personaly looked into Turbos and that seems more doable than the supercharger....BUT both will require alot of work.....i dont see why a blow through system would not work...heck....1980 Regal used just that.....4bbl with a turbo...had a box that fit on top of the carb with a tube going to a turbo...much mounted just like the Power Strokes. Anyway....I'll get off my tangant and get out of here.....
