02 headlight help needed.

on the 02 F250 headlight circuit, the wiring diagram shows a "headlamp relay" and "microprocessor" as being part of the main light switch, in the line between the auto light switch and the sunload sensor.
are these units part of the headlight switch, or are they seperate??
i have the proper light switch installed, the sunload sensor installed, but still get no power to the red/yellow output wire.

It looks like they are seperate.
The "headlamp relay" and "microprocessor" are inside of the Vehicle Security Module (VSM).

Here is the diagram.

Wish I could help Tom. I don't have any insight on the headlight circuits newer than '87. Went through a number of headlight switches back then.

well, they is working now. sort of.
instead of putting in the $114 VSM, i rigged up a 40 amp relay with a 20 amp fuse in line between the headlight auto circuit and the red/yellow headlight wire. then triggered the relay off a switched ignition circuit. now, with the switch in auto position, i have lights as soon as the key is turned on, sorta like DRL's. or they can be turned off, and used regularly.

the only thing that is not hooked up yet is the sunload sensor.
i will save that for another day.

dabgummit!!!

i fergot about the tail light circuit. so i got to add anouther wire off the relay.

didn't find out about the missing tail light circuit till i was leaving the doctors. i couldn't figure why the dash lights wouldn't come on.

then it dawned on me.
