The horn and cruise control have stopped working. I suppose I will disassemble the steering column in a couple weekends to replace the clock spring. I've lost my intermittent wiper setting, so plan to also replace the wiper stalk while I am in there. Any suggestions on the best source for a clock spring and the wiper stalk?
Was there an Aero recall to replace something in the steering column? Was it for the clock spring?
It's possible that the leads for the airbag in the CS have broken while the leads for the cruise and horn have not so yes.
To check this remove the airbag connector from the CS and the CS connector from the dash harness and run a continuity test through the airbag connector on the CS to the airbag wires on the connector that went into the dash.
You probably won't measure anything signifying that the airbag connectors in the CS is shot.
