rough running after ex. mani change
My exhaust manifold recently cracked so I went out and bought a new one. I also got a Felpro int/ex manifold gasket since it didn't come stock with the ex gasket. I carefully took everything apart and checked the head to make sure it hadn't warped and it looked great, also the intake manifold checked out good too. The Felpro gasket set also came with a gasket for where the intake hooks up to the exhaust manifold at the carb, I used it as well since it didn't come from the factory with one. I put everything back together by the book. I started up the engine and it sounded good except I could hear some kind of noise from the firewall direction, either its sucking or blowing air. But it doesn't sound like an exhaust leak like when the manifold was cracked. Worst of all it lacks power when you first step on the gas. I'm really pissed about it because I've put alot of work in to it and had it running great before the manifold cracked. Any help or directions would be appreciated.

Did you check where the piping for the choke plugs into the manifold? I've chased leaks before only to find it was coming from there. It's on top towards the fire wall. You would have to be over it looking down to see it.
