Greetings,
this is my first post with a question about my truck i just bought. it an 85 f150 inline 6 300 with automatic tranny (model unknown at this time it's one where you can change the bell housing for any engine you bolt up to it)
My question is
when I run my truck over 2000 rpm approx. and at idle it has a really loud knock. I have already flushed and filled the gas tank and oil system. still the knock was there. One of my friends told me it might be the knuckle bearing?? any ideas on how to fix this problem or any other ideas to try.
it may be old,
it may be rusty,
but it's my Ford;-)
What is your oil pressure like? Also, the damper on these engines has been known to spin. It will give you a very bad vibration, and you will not be able to check your timing in the normal manner. If you damper has spun, you will need to change it. Herman
