Does anybody know where to find a receiver hitch for a 66 f100?And what other years would fit on the 66? Thanks,

Dusty, Anything up to 72 should work fine as the same chassis width is shared. I went to Leonard truck/storage bld. center and got a class IV hitched on my truck.

In 73 the chassis was widened, so nothing 73 or later for Ford can be used.

They are easily obtainable. At least '65, up through '72 will be the same. Maybe earlier as well, but I am not sure of that.

73 to 87 GM trucks have the same frame width as the 65 to 72 Ford trucks and according to the local U haul they have the same part number. Jeff

I got a Drawtite off of a 80's Chevy at PicknPull for 24.99 in perfect shape. The only thing Chevy's are good for.

A lot of the chevies have the big honking square tube seen just under the bumper. That may not bother you but I think it is UUgly.

Im not a big fan of the looks of a receiver hitch either, but I have a rollpan.Since I would never put a step bumper on my truck the receiver is my only option.I am hoping I will be able to mount it back out of sight.

Dusty I just went out and looked at mine again. I had the guy mount it so the the end of the receiver is ahead of the the bumper. I have the chrome rear bumper that matches the front with 3" exhaust outlet tubes. You can see the very bottom of the bar that goes across and the receiver itself. When the hitch and ball are removed it is not standing out like the chevy hitch that I described before.

I tow with my truck so I have to have a good hitch system, but I am pleased with how little is actually seen.

John, what brand/part number did you get? There are several options out there with various amounts of drop built into the hitch. I am running the style-side rear bumper and want the hitch to be as hidden as possible.

I just went out to look for a brand name and found none.

There is a tag that has Quality S QS-034 Phoenix Az V-5

Rated to pull 6000 lbs and tote 600 lbs

John, I just googled QS 034 and found it at one site($119), although it didn't mention a brand. It's listed as a class III hitch, at 6000lbs / 600 tongue so I don't know. Allthough w/ a WD hitch it likely goes to 10,000. Most of those I am looking at are 6000/600 and 10,000/1000 w/ WD hitch...that's what I need. Thanks for looking!

It had a different set of numbers with a weight dist. and I didn't write those down. Now with a ice cold wind blowing and darkness everywhere, you will have to wait for me to go out there again. LOL

Have you looked on Craigslist? You can find some deals there, if you check every day.
