Removing Emissions

I have a 302 from a 86 Towncar that I'm putting in a much older vehicle (49 Ford) so I want to ditch all the emissions and efi stuff. On the back of the heads there is a port where the crossover tube plugged in. Does anybody know what size these ports are? They look like they are threaded but maybe they are not. I guess I could cut the flange off the old tube and weld it shut and bolt it back on too.

That's what I did on my Mustang and my 63 F100. Cut the tubing off just far enough out the I could crimp it together, then silver soldered it shut. No leaks and you can't see them.

http://www.rjminjectiontech.com/?p=9 The block off plates look good but those could be made at home as well as find the block off hardware for the egr and the
back of heads bolts at the hardware store. If you got a multimeter you could make
the electrical harness deal for the egr sensor or just use the cap off the egr sensor
and tape it so it stays in the closed position and tuck it somewhere, If you are still
using the computer also it needs to see egr closed signal.
