Ryan found some extra antifreeze where it dosen`t belong, coming out of the left hand exhaust manifold.
So a tear down is in order to find out why.....
After we got SK51 in the shop I got called in to work so I missed some of the fun.
Getting called into work goes like this, a large client calls and asks me to bring the Bobcat for a job. (About the time I was getting awful bored......)
I did have plans to take the winter off unless it snowed alot and stayed above -20......
Don't worry Fom you didn't miss out got it on tape. Your better half wasn't too impressed with the smoke and noise........ http://youtube.com/watch?v=0xXk4aNTKRY
Oh and by the way if anyone cares to say a prayer for my dear 239 tonight it could sure use it, gonna be interesting opening her up tommorra hopefully.
Thats on3e thing bout Flatheads, always soung good, even when running like **** and burning more water then gas. Fingers crossed for shot head gaskets but I got bad news Fom.
The left bank had antifreze comin out too, so unless both gaskets are shot not lookin pretty.
There is quite a list but
Best case scenario- needs new head gaskets or a simple silicon patch job
Worst case scenario- water jacket gave way (which is very likely) Roughly if this happened my block is eseintally screwwed. Which means the motor is done which means SK51 will not be finished.
Or else could have a 2 bad heads or maybe there is something different like antfreeze simply travelling throw the threads from the water jacket through to the exhaust manifold which who knows.
I'll open it up tommorrow (if Moe still ok with it) then take good look at the block and heads and if it looks good get new gaskets do a nice valve job seal it up and forget it ever happend, if I see a majior crack or 2 then well see if a replacement motor is found or just part the 51 out.
