pics as promised:
again. front window is missing, and so is one of the side ones. but....free
without for comparison:
my tailgate was pretty messed up. i beat it back into enough shape to get back on there, but needs more work in order for the glass to actually close
inside...doesn't show much other than the missing front window
broken back window
big rubber deal
do i need the camper shell tape, or does this big rubber thing work? i'm not really worried about water or scratching the bed. the tops of the rails are pretty beat up as-is. there's no way this thing will ever be water-tight.
i think it's ugly, but it'll get the job done when i need it and you can't beat free.
To be honest, I've NEVER seen a truck that looked good with one of those oversized camper shells... By oversized I'm talking about the ones that have a roof height HIGHER than the height of the cab. Mine is flush with the height of the cab, which I think looks much better (although I still prefer my truck without the shell):
I won't argue about the utility of the camper shell, it's great to be able to lock your stuff in the truck and keep it out of the weather. Once the snowboarding season starts I'll most likely put mine back on and leave it 'til Winter's over. Otherwise, I'd like to keep my truck lookin' good
My cap is extended too, higher than the roof...bleh. I don't like it but I don't have anywhere to stash it. I still have a cap for my 90, and no truck to put it on.
I guess if anyone wants a free cap near Chicago for a short bed it's yours. Might have some water sitting in it and slugs under it but it's in good shape. =P
Nice plates Chris, never noticed them before. Did see a white Centurion today like yours. Man it's a good looking rig.
I saw an aluminum shell cap at the yard a while back that was about foot or more higher than the trucks roof. Straight up, no aero step. I could almost stand in it.
