Hey folks,
I have an opportunity to take in my leased F150 to a dealer 2 months early and buy a new car (not gonna do a lease this time) . Ford will take over 2 months of my payments. This would save me around $740.
However, the lease is signed by my dad and it's titled to him. However, I live about 300 miles from him and where we leased the truck. I checked the lease termination thing and it says that I need to return it to the original dealer . However, it states that if i have moved or live more than 75 miles from the dealer, I can take it to any dealer. But, as said before, the truck is registered to my dad, not me, and he lives near the original dealer.
Since I'm buying the a vehicle this time around, I will be using my name on the car. Does anyone know if FORD will make an exception and let me take the truck back to my local dealer rather than having to drive 300+ miles to drop it off at the dealership near my dad?
Thanks for any clarification. I s'pose I could call a local dealer and find out. Just wondering if there are some people here who may know.

Hey Nick...welcome to the forums... ...if you can tell me what kind of vehicle you are looking to buy and what your zip code is, I'll check out the current programs. If you don't want to post that here...either PM me or send me an email.
Okay folks, got this all done yesterday at the dealership. I was able to get the dealer to have my dad approve the contract transfer to me so I can act on his behalf since his name was on the original lease contract.
I turned in my F150 for a 2008 Ford Focus (*cries*), but this is only since I have no need for a truck. However, next year, when I purchase some country land, I'll be buying and older Ford truck. Here I come!!
So what do you think of the focus, and did you get the sync system? I have a 01 focus and I love it, they handle great, get good gas mileage, and are pretty peppy.

I honestly have not had time to check it out. I just picked it up today from the dealer and by the time I got there, it was dark. My next focus was trying to get back home through the horrendous city traffic in one piece. The last thing I wanted was to crash the car right out of the lot! It drove nice...there is some breaking in to do, though. One thing I noticed right away, though, was that athe steering wheel was blocking a good part of the speedometer area and u can't see if there's a turn signal on or not.
Will report more on it tomorrow as I gotta do a trip to the airport.
Loving the car...fixed the steering wheel obstruction issue by simply adjusting the steering wheel. however, it' may be an issue for taller people...I'm about 5'9" so the obstruction was barely cleared. Love the stock radio...no need for sirius. It displays artist info, song title info, etc. The digital MPG indicator has a bar graph to show you if you're getting the best MPG at your current speed and driving condition. Very handy for those watching your fuel usage.
USB port is perfect...now i can charge my GPS, phone, ipod, etc. Have not had a chance to use the SYNC system yet. Heard this is the best part of the car (but I could careless, more interested in the car than the media). Good road pickup...good engine. Need to get used to hugging the ground...gotta train myself to look up not down in the mirrors, lol. Miss my F150...but that's ok...will get one in the future.
I had an 02 focus and loved it, esecially the MPG, but it was useless in the winters up here even with good tires. I live quite a far out in the country and the roads out here usually get plowed about 4 hours after I need to be at work. I am also a first responder and need to get down roads that are often not the best, or park in ditches at accident scenes. So I ended up trading it last year for the truck in my sig, it works out much better for me, but I do still miss my focus, at some point maybe in few years I hope to by one of that vintage again, it was great to have in the summer, just to drive to work and back, or to drive on long distance trips on the interstates, I used to get 40mpg driving 70mph, now I get 22mpg at 65mph at best.
