F250 Break-in
Hey guys, I started this on the wrong forum (99-03 PS), hopefully the mods will notice and delete it.
I had my 06 PS broken into on Thrusday night.
All they did was poke in the key mech on the drivers side. No other indication of forced entry. I didn't even notice that damage initially.
The police told me that most of that door handle is known to be weak and the kids can get in without any trouble at all.
That seems like an awful mickey mouse set-up. I'm considering replacing the drivers door mech with one like the drivers-side rear door...no key lock. Just rely on the remote and the numeric keypad and risk that my truck battery won't go dead on me.
The worst part is they only took a set of keys from my work. $300 Raybans, garage remote, and even change in the cup holder were all still there. They must have been spooked by someone walking by maybe.
I've always hated noise maker alarms, but maybe its time to get one.
Any thoughts from someone in the same situation?
