Gauge wiring?
I'm in the process of putting gauges in my 2000 PSD and am needing help finding wires. Where have you guys been getting your 12v ignition power? My instructions say a red wire with a yellow stripe at the power block underneath the steering wheel, but I can't find it.
Also, I would like to tie into the dash lights, but can't figure out how to get to the switch out of the dash.
HELP PLEASE!

The red wire with yellow stripe (ignition on) will be going to a round 4 pin connector to the right of the steering column. It is near the opening under the dash when the panel is removed. I believe the connector was for the factory idle controller when equipped with a PTO. To the right close to the steering column is a brown 6 wire connector. The top center wire should be light blue with a red stripe. This blue wire is for the gauge lights and is controlled by the dimmer on the dash next to the headlight switch.

I am about to order my guages, what psi do i need to go up to? The itp has two, 35 and 60. My truck is all stock right now, so i just need the gauge that goes up to 35 psi right? Also, trans temp gauge, short sweep or full sweep? Thanks.

35 psi for the boost is all you need until you get into heavy engine and turbo mods. I have the short sweep Autometer Phantom gauge for the trans temp. I don't think it was offered in a full sweep. That's a matter of personal preference. Most of the time, my temps are are on the low side (from 100 to 160). Only reaches 180 during towing in the summer with a/c.
