i'm trying to find the valve timing for an early 300.thanks tcw

valve timing

Very hard to come by. I believe last year StrangeRanger posted some valve timing info on the 300. Not sure if for early or late model though. You can search the boards, presumably it would be on this "inline six" forum.

valve timing

Stock '66 intake opens at 12º BTDC. In 1971 stock intake opens at 18º BTDC, this is per Chiltons 1973 big book for automobiles. (240 in) Unfortunately the same vintage truck book doesn't have that info. Motors (same vintage automobile) lists Intake lift at 0.376" and exhaust at 0.400" all of this is for the 240 CID, the 300 was never put in automobiles (at least not by Ford) Hope this helps. Herman
