I have a 2003 F150 4x4 supercrew.
It has a dial on the lower dash which engages the 4x4 and it does not light up any more when you put the lights on. The rest of the dash lights, light up but the 4x4 switch does not. I think the bulb is burnt out.
Anyone know how to replace the bulb for the switch?
I'm in the same boat as you. Mine burnt out last summer and I looked into replacing the bulb. I went to Radioshack and Checker Auto. They told me to ask the dealership. I went to the dealer and found out you can't get the little bulb. Found out need to buy the whole switch. I didn't get one, so I just left it. I did notice that the headlight switch has the same bubl as the 4x4 switch. Only thing I can think of is to go to a salvage yard and find a 97-03 truck and take the bulb from the headlight switch or 4x4 switch if 4x4
As to replacing it isn't all that hard. The radio trim bezel must be removed. The way to remove it is pull straight towards you. Just don't pull too far on it.
