All they did was poke in the key mech on the drivers side. No other indication of forced entry. I didn't even not that damage initially.
The police told me that most of that door handle is known to be weak and the kids can get in without any trouble at all.
That seems like an awful mickey mouse set-up. I'm considering replacing the drivers door mech with one like the drivers-side rear door...not key lock. Just rely on the remote and the numeric keypad and risk that my truck battery won't go dead on me.
The owrst part is they only took a set of keys from my work. $300 Raybans, garage remote, and even change in the cup holder were all still there. They must have been spooked by someone walking by maybe.
I've always hated noise maker alarms, but maybe its time to get one.
I have a massive set of air horns very concealed, wired to the stock horn on a switch. I plan on getting an alarm remote start very soon as my truck is very "eye candy"ish and the horns would certainly scare anyone around into looking at the douche breaking in the truck.
I'd be leary about the garage door. If you have another remote I'd change the code on the door opener, I think they will be back in the near future. Lee
Yup I thought they might have cloned the remote so I bought some new remotes and receiver with completely different freqs, but then I realized they would have had to transmit the remote (openning the door and waking me up)
Better safe than sorry I guess. I'm now really smart on how the whole openner remote things works as well.
BTW, 100ish for the replacement mechanism up here.
Amazing that Ford does not offer a discount for one of their own dealer installed alarms for such a known problem. I tried that at the dealer level, but no dice.

As mentioned earlier, what good is an alarm that everyone ignores? I like the train horns idea. If that won't turn some heads, nothing will. The other link has good ideas in there as well.
By the way, unless you plan to hover in close air support then your just an easy target.
I think I got the idea from Storm, not sure, but I'm thinking of an alarm for my truck but the siren will go inside the cab so the *******s go deaf. Recently took another report for somebodys passenger door handle being broke to gain entry and got me thinking again about alarms and new door handles.

Ha Ha, you know it as well as I do. If you don't want to lose it, don't leave it in your vehicle. Period! Smash-n-grab takes seconds. People rob other people. What good is an alarm/siren when a crackhead needs something to pawn for some rock? Food for thought, I had a 95 Mustang 5.0 convertible, I never locked it and left nothing in it. Think about that and how much a top costs or a window. Is that right? No. Is that the world we live in? Yes.

O.K. I just caught this, You mean they did this at your Home????
You, my friend, need a bigger dog, or at the very least motion sensing flood lights at the house.
