I tried posting this in the suspension forum but so far have got nothing so here goes.
My coil springs are sagging and need to be replaced on my 1975 F-100 4x4. It has a Dana 44, with a 360 FE.
Is it possible to use coils out of a 80's or 90's truck or Bronco. Or do i need to find a 70's truck or Bronco 4x4 to get them out of? I'm looking for stock height or possibly some lift as I have 31" BFG's now and have access to 315/75's or so.
Hopefully one of you guys can help and thanks if you do?
Steve
You can order new ones from the local parts house. If you want to stuff larger tires under your rig, you can find yourself a lift kit, lift it 4 inches.
Trying to find a used set of springs from a donor vehicle that is 30 years old is probably not going to put you in any better position, and buying some coils out of a different truck that is only 20 years old is a crap shoot at best.
New replacement coils are cheap.
