1990 Ranger 351w

Well I really like the 1990 ranger I drive at work and I really like the durability of the 351w and I want to go stinkin fast! So I'm doing alot of thinking about mixing the two. Right now I'm just looking for all info on the windsor. My dad has a 351w in his '77 E150. Have the windsors changed a whole lot over the last 30 years besides the addition of fuel injection? Can you take 1970's 351's and put 90's model injection parts on them such as intake and heads? Did the block stay the same through the years? I've worked on many windsors but never compared them to the older ones. Any and all info appreciated. Also any ranger ideas too.

Not a lot, different cams used and the late '70's heads had hugh combustion chambers giving low compression and low power output.

Yes.

The block is unchanged from '1975 on, before that is was slightly different but not a lot. Somewhere in there they switched to a 1 piece rear main seal, and the block was updated to accept the factory roller cam setup in '94.

Sounds like you are building a burnout/dognut machine, traction will be a major problem in a small vehicle like this when most of the weight is on the front wheels.

Ok lets say I wanted to build a MPFI 427 stroker. I know all the components of the FI system but when it comes to modifying one, I have no experience. I know injectors are rated for certain amount of fuel by lbs. Would I have to go with larger injectors, different TPS and so forth? Anyone used a 427 kit? How'd you like it? How much did it cost?
