Well....went out and took a look at my mower.....got a couple of flat tires, but it still cranks. I think tomorrow I'll see if I can get the bugger moved to the concreted-in shop. I'm thinking duel straight pipes and some big 'ole back tires are in order.

Don't bother. I saw this on the tv last night. If the tires are flat, just take them off and use just the rims to ride on the railroad tracks. Might have to extend the axles a little bit though. Unless you have a wide-track mower.

Depending on the tire size you could pick up a pair of ag tires, Firestone makes direct replacements for my lawn tractor...

Get some 22" for the back, thats the biggest they make for a 8" rim. If your lucky and have 9" or 10" wheels you can go up to 25" tires(of course with appropiate fender mods ) Call a 4wheeler shop, sometimes they have old tires you could get for cheap. If you are going to make a mudding mower, lol, you need a few things
-Snorkel
-Big tires
-Skinny/ or really wide tires up front( that was the biggest probelm with my muddin mower, the front tires would push the mud instead if going through it or floating on top of it.)
-Minor pulley changes
-Get rid of deck and anything else low lieing

I used to have a Cub Cadet 127 that I would drive everywhere (32 acres) go out around the field or down to the RR tracks, run over the fence and go out on the ballast, get out into the woods and try not to run it into any fallen tree or into a creek or get onto a flat open spot and open up the throttle. That tractor could really move, nearly flipped it over a few times though

The best things I did to my mower were put tire chanes on it and welded the rear end solid, That thing will go anywhere.

Allso if your belts are exposed put gards on them because one little stick will nock it right off, Then your stranded in the middle of the woods.

I forgot to mention some of this stuff. The rear axles are usually very simple to weld it. It is very important to make it easy to get to your belt, so that if it does get thrown off you dont have to take crap off to get to it. Also if you plan on being far away from vehicle/home carry extra belt if you can, going through water and mud will make the belt very hot and eventually it can fail.

Build a shifter kart. I am planning on building one with a banshee motor (for those who dont no its a 2-stroke 350 twin cylinder).

I've also been having thoughts about putting this motor into one of those little riders (snapper I belive) with the motor mounted on the back.
