4.6 hesitating
ok, i know this forum is for trucks...but my room mate has a 2002 crown vic with the 4.6 in it (same motor as the trucks i think) and when he goes to put his foot in it the car bucks and jerks really bad. his check engine light is on and the code is for the cylinder head temp. we have replaced the sender itself and the car is still acting up and the temp on the dash is always in the normal range with no signs of the car overheating. we unhooked the battery to rest the peramiters aswell...so what would be the next thing to check? water pump, thermostat...? his fuel filter is less than a year old, and the only other thing that i could think of is he replaced his cats with straight pipes and now the ecm is getting some funky readings from the o2 sensors (there are 4 down there) saying the cats arn't doing their job (but he said that the car was acting this way when he had the cats in). anyone want to touch this one?!?!
