Dirty Motor
I just picked up my first diesel and the motor/wiring is VARY dirty. Whats the best way to clean it? Can I use electrical contact cleaner to clean up the wiring or is brake clean a better option?

I always use super clean to clean my engine. Its a degreaser you can get at auto parts store or walmart, I usually scrub a little too when using it. I wouldn't recomend using break clean cause it eats paint/plastic/rubber and it may eat away at an electrical connection or wire. You can also use gunk engine brite, that usually works pretty well too, it comes in a can and you can get it at an autoparts store or walmart aswell.

COOL --COLD ENGINE
I always use "Simple Green" full strengh, let it set for awhile then hose off with non-pressurized water. Make sure your engine is cold and do not concintrate on the electrical connections.
