302 351 engine swap
hey guys i got a 1992 f150 4x4 5.0 liter flareside auto.
i was wondering how much money would go into a 351 swap and all the parts needed.
what would fit and what wouldnt?

The amount of $$ spent depends heavily on what you can source. If you can find a complete low milage 5.8 from a wreck then the swap will cost you whatever that motor costs. If you have to rebuild a shortblock from scratch and buy all the parts new it'll cost a whole lot more. There are several unique parts on the 5.8 that you can't transfer from the 5.0, the oilpan and pickup, complete intake and fuel rail, and distributor. Accessory brackets and engine mounts are the same however. And besides the motor itself you'll need a 5.8 computer to match your tranny. If you have an E4OD, AOD, C6 or 5-speed you will find computers that work, but if you have the 4R70W or AODE you won't.
