Well, I am now a firefighter. Yea!!!! I already got to go fight my first forest fire, and I loved it. A lot of work but it fas fun to me.
Now I been looking for some strobe lights for my truck. Do any of the volunteer firefighters on here have any pointers on what to get and what looks the best.
When I was a vollie I wanted hide a ways in the headlights and taillights but never felt it was worth the money.
Kudos to the forest fighting. That's some tough shizzle. We had a small brush/forest fire around here that they were asking for volunteers for at my firehouse. I said I'd go, but was hoping they could deal with it. They ended up not needing us.
Congrats! i'm just about to join my volly department here. I like the sleeper fire truck look too. I don't knwow aht your budget is, but I'd go with the Whelen 90 Watt 6 strobe hide-a-ways (2 in your front turn signal, two in the rear turn signal, and two in the reverse lights). Then I'd get two or four Whelen TIR3 LEDs for your grille. Maybe two near your rear license plate too. That would look pretty sharp IMO. Not over the top or whackerish, but enough to clear traffic. Dash lights are pretty cool and easy to install, but I think there is a lot of flashback with those at night. I've never used one, but that's jsut what I've heard. One of thos would be the cheapest and easiest way. They are prett effective too. Most important, be safe. Just because you have lights doesn't mean any motorsist will have a clue what to do when they see you.
