That should have been my first clue, as the steering is far different. I didn't pick up on it since it's been years since I sold my muchloved '86 Ranger. The second clue was the rear end breaking loose pulling out of the garage. I found myself too distracted by that to notice the fact that the fwd wasn't working. So it was needles and pins driving into work. At the time I just assumed it was an ideosyncrasy of the of the truck. I sure as hell know better now. A very good 4x4 in the snow.
Nothing is good on glare ice without chains to grind into it.

For sure...bet you were ticked off that the truck sucked so bad in the snow when you figured it would have been awesome! This happened to me I have a awd x-type and was so glad I got the one with dynamic stability control...I figured that the car would have been flawless in the snow but without dsc I would have regretted getting the car. Given that the reason the awd isn't flawless in the car is because I'd push it to see what would happen...you take it easy it does fine but you put any power and its just like a rear wheel drive car...with dsc on I can floor it and yank the steering wheel and the car drives straight down the road even when I'm making it drove side to side down the road!

What are you talking about? I'm a stay at home dad and my wife barely makes 11 an hour! Anyone can afford one! Our credit is ok but the cost of the jag x-type's are low! You could get one from a dealer with a 6 year 100k mile bumper to bumper warranty for around 16k if you want something better like navi and xenon's your looking at 20k Keep in mind the warranty is no deductible and anything wrong with the car and they need it for more than a day you get a rental...keep in mind leather, awd and power everything is standard in the u.s.!
Here's mine and w/ tax, title plates out the door was like 15,600. I had 54k miles and no warranty though and mine's a sport...best one you can get minus navigation and hids...although I added that feature ; )

Nice lookin' Jag. Having owned a '59 Triumph TR3A, a '67 Spitfire, and a '66 Midget, oh, and a moneypit called a '73 850 Norton Commando, I love british iron, the cavaeat is that I have no health insurance, so my last surgery comes straight out of my wallet.
Lucky me.

That sucks! We just had a baby well last February now and I had health insurance my employer was paying for which was supposed to be good...ha! I was supposed to not have to pay a deductible and than later we get a letter in the mail saying I owe 550 or something like that....well come July they send me another letter saying I owed them another 1100 for my sons deductible! I hate health care, insurance and the things our government allows them to get away with! The sickest part is that the insurance company forces the price they are supposed to pay to the hospital down and yet you are forced to pay it! It makes me sick. For instance when my wife first went to the hospital after her obgyn said she had to get nst (non-stress tests) twice a week we got the bill of what they were going to cost. She was hooked to this machine that monitored the heart beat of the baby and her for 15 mins to 30 mins and the first 2 bills for it were 800+dollars per visit!!! Later we got the adjusted bill for the insurance company that ranged from 120-180 dollars per visit! It is truly a joke!
