Now that is good info right there. Screwing around in there will make even a young buck sore the next day. Like the previous post said, you have a good idea what to look for. Since you aren't up to it, find somebody you trust (not the Stealer) and let us know how it goes.

Good luck with the hip replacement. My boss had one this last summer and was up and cruising in just a few weeks. Technology is great.

There's nothing wrong with having someone else do the work for you. It does help to have good information so you're not sold a shopping list of things you don't need, and even to point the mechanic in the right direction on what to repair.

Injector code question

OK, Let's see. Looking at the last ticket I got from Treadwell Ford, it says" Engine Light on Advise
13 Engine Diesel
672 IPS
Turn Engine Lights off #2 INJ MISFIRE N/C 672

Anybody got that code and what it means?

BUELLER, BUELLER?

I've got the get an appointment tomorrow.

P0672 Glow plug #2 circuit failure
QB1 CHECK FOR DTC P0671 — DTC P0678
DTC P0671 — DTC P0678 are set when the PCM receives a corresponding glow plug #1 to #8 fault from the glow plug control module (GPCM).

Possible causes:
open glow plug circuit
damaged connector
shorted glow plug circuit
faulty GPCM
failed glow plug
Perform KOER On-Demand Self Test and retrieve/clear continuous DTCs.

Could very well be a short (open circuit) in the UVCH harness since a faulty glow plug won't affect the way an engine runs after it warms up.

1 more question. Could the short in the wiring harness been the cause of the pop and kill the Injector pump and the Camshaft Sensor? If so, shouldn't I go back to the stealer and throw a fit and make them fix it for a reduced price? I have a friend who is a shop forman at the Chevy store and he said that a dealer is the place to take a vehicle to find a short because a big dealer will have all the latest diagnostic equipment. I await your advice.

There's nothing wrong with a Ford dealer if he knows what he's doing. I took my 02 to a dealer to chase down an electrical gremlin. He figured it out in no time, but it wasn't due to his fancy equipment. It had to do with training and experience working on a diesel motor. I did have to decline about $1,200 worth of work recommended by the customer service adviser who called with an estimate based on my odometer reading before the mechanic even looked at the truck, but once the mechanic looked at it he found the problem in about 45 minutes.

As far as your other problems, I don't think a harness short would throw a CPS code, but it could throw injector related codes. Since I don't know the full story on what the dealer did and why I can't say if you should be upset with him.

Good luck and let us know if you have any more questions.

Here is the finale. The shop I took it to, not the dealer, a local diesel injector shop, did a lot of testing on the electrical system. They also did a (?) Pressure test on cylander #2. That turned out AOK. They changed the wiring harness in the valve cover gasket. It WAS a short that killed the CPS and the Injector Module. The dealer was treating the symptom, not the cause. I'll keep you posted, but so far, so good. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR INPUT. F-350-6, you were dead on. Thank you. Hopefully, I will not have any more trouble for another 225,000 miles.

I've heard that idea some where before. Oh, wait, it was in multiple posts of this thread....

Glad you found someone smarter than the stealer to fix it.

But, FTE fixed 1st for free.
