i've done it too. i relied on a frien to check the water crossing i was about to cross. i saw ripples in the water, and he said he could see the bottom. well the first three feet were shallow then dropped straight down. i had my feet on the pedals and they were under water, i had to crawl out the sunroof. the truck was at a 45 degree angle. my motor was full of water, it took a full day of hand cranking to drain the water and 2 oil changes to clear it up. it had to be dragged 5 miles to my friends house. it was a bad day. but it didn't cost me much. check all your fluids and look for water. replace as necessary. manual trannys take 50 weight. i am changing mine now cause i used gear oil, not the right fluid.
