i got a 96 f150 xl and i want to put some bigger tires on it...right now it has 235's on it and i'm wondering what size will fit without putting any kind of lift into it
My 31 x 10.50 only rub the radius arm if I crank all the way, and even then its only slightly. You can run 35 x 12.50's in the back with no lift, (which I also used to do), but then your 4x4 will be useless.
I don't think you can buy 31 x 10.50's in metric, but if you could it would be a 305/65 15 (or something like that, I really can't remeber)
Even the trucks from factory that had 31's (I had 2 new ) Would buff paint off rad arms.
You could go P2657515 which is basically the 31' but little narrower . Which my truck had from factory. Don't forget to reset posom (center speedo) up in articals and specs tels you how. later .
31 10.5x15 fit no problem at all. They came on some of them. 33 12.5's will fit, but may need to shim the front bumper a bit. Remember if you go taller, it will need more power to turn them. So I would recomend sticking to the 31's unless you got good power out of a 5.8L, or regear.
As for metric size a 31 10.5 would be a 265/75r15. Or as close as it comes. Most metric tires are P rated though. I think your better off with a C rated 31 10.5
