what does a stock coil put out 10,000 20,000 i don't know and if i were to get a new coil what kind should i get for my 1990 300 with cat back exhaust k&n air charger throttle body space.

Grays31, your stock coil puts out around 30-35K volts. A good aftermarket coil will put out around 50K volts. The pre-HEI ignitions (points) were about 20K volts.

There are many brands to choose from: Mallory, Jacobs, MSD, Accel, etc. Take your pick. Make sure that you get one for electronic ignitions. With a hotter coil, you can open up your sparkplug gaps to .050"-.055". Then you can put on a set of low resistance sparkplug wires. And then......
