anyone have this, have a few guys that swear by it, but costs about 500 bucks. if it works it will pay for itself very fast as much as i drive but would like to hear more about it. thanx
Dont really know anything about the FS2500 sys. Other than all the adds & I am allways suspect of mega add campains.
Ditto everything...oil guard here and very happy with it, don't know much about the FS, and am not sure about it because of all the huge ad's.
One concern I might have about it...can it filter too finely and take some of the additives out of the oil? If it filters finely enough to remove soot from the oil, thus keeping it clean, what else might it be taking out? I'd be worried that things like anti-foam agents, friction modifiers, viscosity improvers, detergents, etc might be filtered out.
Oh ya I use Schaffers 9000 5w-40 oil, so that may contribute to it still looking good even after exteded usage. I get my oil tested & Blackstone says it is still in great shape so thinking about stretching the change interval to 10k, just not sure Im ready to make that jump yet.
I'm using the OilGuard unit with Schaeffer's 9000 5w40, too. Ready for my first oil sample on my first run with it. I've been running the OilGuard unit, though, since January, and have put about 18K miles on it, and it holds up very well.
I did a lot of research on the Amsoil and Oilguard units before I decided on the OG, but did not run across the FS system until after my install. I think I would go with the FS system on my next truck.
Regarding the filtration of anti-foaming agents, lube agents, etc... I've heard a lot of comments on that potential, but I've not been able to find a technical article that has test results demonstrating that it actually happens. Not saying it can't... just that I haven't found any documentable proof of it yet on hte oilf filtration systems for vehicles.
The FS systems is pricey, for sure, but I've heard excellent reports from several FTE members who have it and really like it.

That is worth more to me than any amount of advertising I could read. Positive reviews from memebers of our forum go a long way with me. If I didn't already have an Oil Guard unit on mine, I would probably investigate this one a little further.
yeah, exactly. im looking more at what people around here say about it than what there advertising does. ive got PM's from a few people that really seam to love the FS. not sure which way ill go but right now im leaning towards the FS.
I have bypass filters in my truck already, but just wondering what does an FS 2500 filter cost and how often do they recommend changing it? The website is vague
That issue is dealt with in an equally vague manner on the OilGuard system. I've asked the question and get two different answers.
1. Change Full flow AND bypass filters on every oil change.
2. Change Full Flow filter every oil change, and Bypass element every other oil change.
Until I finalize which oil I'm settling with and what interval I'll be using (10,000, 12,000 15,000, 18,000, etc.) between oil changes, I'll be changing both filters with each oil change. Then I'll experiment with skipped intervals, but only with Blackstone analysis to back up my decisions.
I'm using oilguard with Rotella synthetic and with regular oil analysis my oil gets changed every 8000 to 10000 miles. I think its the best mod I have done.
