brake drag
Hi guys,
I've come here for some ideas in the past so I just decided to join. I just got my F-350 4x4 this summer and now there's a problem. When I jack up my front end and spin the tires they aren't spinning free at all, they stop almost the instant you stop pushing. I also just replaced one frozen caliper the other day and now that brake is dragging harder than the others. Could there be a clog somewhere in the brake lines that isn't allowing the pressure to be released? I'm a rookie at this stuff, just looking for ideas as to what has happened to other people. Thanks

Completely different truck, but on my '79 F250 when once replaced the master cylinder, suddenly I had the same problem. In fact, as I drove, the brakes would slowly tighten down. Turned out to be a faulty replacement unit I had installed. A leak somewhere in the hydraulic portion of the unit was allowing the booster to slowly pump up the brake line pressure. Replaced the unit, fixed it.
I had the exact problem, although it was on my Dodge 2500. After replacing the master cylinder, both front calipers, both rotors, and both front hubs, I still had excessive drag. It turned out to be clogged hoses (the ones from the frame to the caliper). About $15 a piece from Autozone. Hope this helps.
Thanks abealex, that's what I am leaning towards also, because just this afternoon I took apart the rear calipers, wirebrushed them and lubed them up and they're still getting really warm just driving around town.
Thanks again
Thanks again
