Thanks Merc. Appreciate it. Looks like p/n is 38826. I'll check it out and also confirm the stealership is correct in its diagnosos.

the way i confirmed my rumble was to remove the hub locks (very easy to do) and spin the U joint on the stub shaft with the transfer case for 4x4 disenguaged

You may be able to feel that it is not smooth - if thats the case here have a look at this:

Is there supposed to be play in the stub shaft. (I am assuming the stub shaft is what I see sticking out of the hub and it engages the splines on the inner gear of the Warn locking hub). Both of mine can be moved 1/8 inch axially at least. Is that right or do I have a bearing problem as well.

some play is ok, if you can move it all about up and down and all over then the main seal is prolly bad...

take it apart... take a look at this how to
