Harmonic Balancers?
Im switching a '89 300 over to a single V belt from a serpentine, and im using a '68 balancer. Any problems? The only accessoriies are a alternator and a water pump, so a serpentine is really unnecessary. Ive heard horror stories about engines detonatiing if the balancer isnt right, and was wondering since the 300 is an internally balanced engine, and all the cranks supposedly interchange, then there shouldn't be any problem. Ive heard about a 50/50 opinion on it, so Im still really confused. With about $1700 into it, I dont need to see 14+ months of work go boom.:-staun Thanks.
