'97 ford

i am considering buying a 1997 ford, F-350 crew cab 4x4, long bed,7.3 deisel.
i pull a 5th wheel and my question is, how much wieght will this truck pull, without exceding manufacturing standards.

please reply, help is much appriciated.

Two words... A LOT!!! Lol. I know that in 95 my Ford booklet says that the 7.3L is rated for 10k lbs on a trailer, and I think they only capped it there to be safe. That PSD is a pulling machine, don't worry about how much weight it can pull, worry about how much crap you can load up the trailer with to make her happy

Those 7.3's can tow tons of weight, I help a friend haul a D-4 dozer with his 7.3. The truck was way loaded, but the motor just kept on chuggin.

I wouldn't worry about exceeding the manufacturing standards, unless you plan on pulling an actual freight train.

Yea I agree, it will pull all you want and more but it will tell you on a sticker in the drivers door jamb exactly what it's axles are rated for.
