Cutting Keys

Finally got around to getting the two replacement keys cut that I picked up on ebay for less than $20. I went to a lock and key place that I have done business with for many years. He wanted to charge me $37.50 PER KEY! Half of what they retail their blanks. Needless to say I was out the door in a heartbeat. I mean sheesh, I understand a guy wanting to make a profit, but come on. I would have been happy to give him a few extra bucks, but his entire profit margin? So, up the street I went to Ace Hardware (where they don't make all their money off keys and locks), the guy charged me .50 per cut, for a total of $2.00. Got em programed and I'm set for now. Just wanted to rant a bit though, this ever happen to anyone else?

Walmart will cut them for free. When I bought the Ex only had one key. Local locksmith was about half of what dealer wanted to program key. I think I paid about 50-55 bucks.
