Can anyone point me to a good tune-up guide? I have a '90 F-150 2wd 300-6. It's got somewhere between 137,000 and 200,000 miles on it, and it feels like it needs some TLC to get back in shape. It just runs a little rough from time to time. Before I start putting down all kinds of money, I want to take care of the basic maintenance stuff first.
I've got a Clymers repair manual and a Chiltons. As I recall the Clymers are sold at Autozone and I think they suck (the book, not Auto Zone). Clymers is made in England and goes into incredible detail for some items and for others doesn't even address it. So I vote for Chiltons (they cover alot of years and models).
Hey, don't worry about throwing $$ at it, anything you replace will be worth it and just one trip to the shop along with a tow bill will take care of several years of home maintenace (I spent $240 at the Ford dealer just to get a coil replaced).
