I went back to ford so that they could run more tests on my surging 03.
During the test the tech commented on how loud the turbo was, and I mentioned that the muffler was removed and I beat the cat out. Right away he tells me that this is the reason my truck won't hold a steady idle. I asked him about the ebp being removed from the strategy and he said it didn't matter, I also asked about the amount of backpressure the turbo puts on the system and he said I still needed a muffler. Does this sound right?
nope. he's just saying that cuz it's against federal law to remove the cat and I don't think they are even supposed to work on vehicles without a cat. not sure though. anyhoot, go to a different dealer with a tech that knows how to fix a 6.0L. I mean, he doesn't even know why the turbo is loud...it's a freaking OH THREE! lol
I had my cat and muffler remove to my 06 and it sounds like a freakin jet getting ready to take off. It has a slite muffle and pop when you get on it but not near as loud as a gasser would be.
Why do you say this? What proof do you have? There are no sensors from the downpipe to the tail pipe. The EBP has been removed from the strategy so it's moot. I'd like to hear your explanation please.
Better check that again. Mabey for that chev in your profile if its a gasser!
The turbo makes MORE than enough back pressure, kittys for emissions, mufflers for young kids and old people!!!!
CUT THEM OFF!!!
