Tie Rod

Hi there, wondering if one of you Ford guru's can help me out. I own a jeep cherokee, they guy I bought it from did a bit of a custom build on it. Anyway he used ford tie rods on it. He told me they were out of a 79 f100. But when I ordered a new one in it's about 8" to long (long end). Everything else seems to be correct. Anyone have an idea on what this tie rod came out of?

Thanks
Andrew

Welcome to the site.
This would have been better in the GAD forum as it is just a part ID.

Check on this page

Sorry, being my first post, I wasn't quite sure where to put this. If a mod wants to move it, it's fine by me.

Thanks for that link, if they gave dimensions there I would be able to figure it out.

Is there not a stamping of a part # on it ?

The application chart should help.

I have a book on them but no measurements.

What side is it on ?

Inner or outer ?

Sealed Power #'s for tie rod assembly
Passenger side
#804-807

Driver's side Outer
# 804-806

Driver's side inner
#802-413R

If he said "F-100" I would be more inclined to think 1972-1977.

Any idea where the stamped part # would be? I tried looking put didn't notice any stampings on it, could be due to dirt and corossion.

The tie rod I need should be 45" - 46" long

I gave you the Sealed power numbers.

Any parts shop can cross them over.
