Heater ?

Truck is fully warmed up. Temp dialed all the way to red.Heat blows hot in defrost, floor or dash vents when moving.Stop at light or sign, and it blows cold. Any ideas

The heater core could be partially plugged (unlikely) or the vacuum controlled heater valve could be defective.

My guess is vacuum leak, perhaps pump or hoses.

There's a TSB about the vacuum pumps flaking out on some trucks. Hopefully it's just a leak like barnbridge said, but if not you may need a new vacuum pump.
