I have a pacemaker compressor that I had put a harbor frieght motor on a few years back 5hp unit. The motor took a dump right after they put a new roof on my house. IMO the amount of crap they knocked down in my garage killed the motor yea It was a mess and I blew crap loads of roof particals out of the motor after the fact. Anyway I cant get another one of these #HDN56MRB34D5 motors. Anyone have a suggestion on what to replace it with. It would be sweet to use air tools again at home since I can now get a car or truck back in my garage after a two month self inflicted mess from hell.
While pretty much any 5HP motor will work fine assuming the RPMs match (17xx vs 35xx).
I have a particular liking for Baldor motors. They are more expensive than HF and other import motors but they are very well designed, have excellent self-cooling, and excellent quality bearings - and I've yet to have one fail, even in machinery that's abused. www.baldor.com or you can find them in the usual places like ebay.
Make sure you get the voltage/phase appropriate for your compressor.
I found a couple motors today I just cant remember the catalog. I need to pull it apart and find out the shaft diameter. It going to be fun to get the compressor out of the corner with a car and all the other crap I have blocking it now.
