Heres my problem guys ........ I just changed my starter this morning and now my truck wont start .... The new starter is turning over fine with plenty of torque but engine wont start...... Before i changed it my older starter was weak and turned the engine poorly but it still started ....... I noticed that I was getting no tach reading when cranking and so I changed the CPS to a new gray CPS that I had on hand ........ Still no tach reading and no start!.....
When I first began taking out the old starter I forgot to disconnect the batteries and I had a small spark as my wrench touched the positive connection wire.... didnt seem enough to do any damage and I disconnected the batteries and removed the starter......... I checked all of my fuses and none blown....... what else coud be giving me a no tach reading??
fuse #9 under the hood IIRC. check them all over really good. seeing how everything was fine before the install. maybe try jumping the two big terminals on the gpr. good luck
I rechecked all fuses under dash and under hood including # 22 and #9 all fuses fine still no start ....... Im even wondering if new starter is spinning engine wrong way ..... when cranking engine standing in front of truck looking at fan blade it is turning CCW ..... I think this is right ..what else can I check??
