A co-worker found this laying behind my truck. Is it from my truck or another vehicle and what is it? I crawled under my truck and didn't see any obvious place it would have gone. Thanks.

Reason: trying to make pic show up
Looks like a Ranger sway bar end link. Cheap and easy to replace. And you can safely wait weeks to do it if it wasn't convenient. Just don't corner like it's a race car. lol.
Honestly, it's about $18 bux at Autozone, advanced, etc. and takes about 5 mins. to change on my 2wd anyways. didn't even jack it up.
To locate on the vehicle, turn the wheels all the way to one side, and look up under there. You will see that piece sticking through the lower control arm if it's the "good" side, or the broken end just hanging from the sway bar.
Just in case you're not familiar, the sway bar is about 1" in diameter, and runs from driver's to passengers side. at each side it has a flat "eye" hole with a bolt through it, aiming straight towards the ground, through the Lower control arm, with a nut on the bottom. That looks stock in your pics. Replacements look like a conventional bolt, just 7" or so long, with a nut, 4 urethane bushings, and 4 big washers. I prefer to replace both at once.
Agree with Cougar....looks the broken end of the sway bar connecting link....basically it is a 8-10" long 3/8 bolt with a bushing each end seperated by a spacer sleeve securing each end of he lower front sway bar to the frame. Simple to repair. Here's the part from NAPA.
I doubt that came off your truck!! Get under and look for anything missing from one
side to the other it should have the same parts on both sides mostly. If you do find it
is sway bar bushings get the polyurethane ones.
Thanks everybody. It was my sway bar end link that is broken on one side. I'm gonna buy the kit from NAPA that has polyurethane bushings in it. Thanks.
