I was told there is a code on my door sticker that tells me what gear I have in the rear end. Where is this code, what does it look like and once I find it can somebody on here translate it or do I have to go talk to a Ford dealer? Thanks!
On the door sticker under the word axle you will see a number like 19 or 18, or there will be a number and the letter L. Once you find this you can do a search on the internet to find what the code means or you can post it and I'm sure somebody will identify what gears you have.

Rather then researching this, it is much easier to crawl under the truck and look at the identification tag that held by one of the bolts on the axle cover. It will have a number that designates where it was made and stuff like that, but look for gear numbers like 3 55, 3L55 or 3 08, 3L08. The L means you have a limited slip, the space means you don't. So look for the space (there so u can find it) or an L.
