Newbie with Chip - question(s)
First thing I did was install a set of guages followed by a TS 6-pos chip.
Ok so I can see me pyro, turbo and tranny temps, truck has a 4" maganaflow exhaust and a cold air intake.
Ok so I have choices for Stock, Hi-idle, 50hp, 75hp, 100hp and 140hp.
What should I know ahead of time about these settings? How dangerous is it to run on the 100 and 140 settings? With stock turbo and Hpop, will it burn up the bearings in the turbo?
Just wondering how to stay safe and not tear up my truck, but how much can i use the chip for "fun" factor.
Appreciate the tips and any advice you can give

Seems most run their chips in the 50-80 hp settings most of the time, with 100+ reserved for play time.
You definately are on the right track, though, doing supporting mods before the chip.
If you tow alot watch the EGT's other than that let the smoke roll.
Your truck will start defueling at 22# boost if you don't have an OBA. Our turbos don't like more than 25# boost, I can get 30 with my DP-TUNER if I don't watch myself. I would also get a BTS-VB installed to help with the shifting and cooling of the trans.
My build date is 8-19-00, Never had a problem with the trans yet.
Other than that let the smoke fly. I sure do. lol

also runing higher boost can lead to turbo surge (not good for a turbo at all) so a wicked wheel is a good idea..so here is a link for that..

The TS 4-bank chip does not leave the 605 computer code in your PCM that can be detected.
Does this have anything to do with the Defueling at 22# boost and the SES light?
I noticed that My turbo will go right to 25psi if I hold a big speed on big grade with big trailer. not sure if it was defueling or not but I think it probably did because it finally downshifted. Never got a light though.
That OBA kit would help in that case and wicked wheel is a good idea too....right on thanks everyone
