I am looking to get a code reader. Are the Auto X-ray or Innova brands any good or is there another that would be better? I defintely welcome any suggestions from all the knowledgeable people on this site.

Those brands are fine, you must get the top of the line models that are CAN Bus compliant (most are not) and can read all the FMC enhanced codes.
Personally i like the AutoEnginuity much better as it reads everything available and is easily upgraded when new features become available.
FMC has the most advanced CAN Bus system of all the auto manufactures, FMC has used CAN Bus since 2004, and all vehicles will be required to use it starting with the 2008 MY.
