Ford Ignition Module Interchangability
I have a brand new WELLS ignition module that was originally bought for my 1991 Ford Ranger 3.0 V6, before she caught fire. I was wondering if this ignition module is interchangable with either my 90' Ford F-150 with the 300 I-6, or my 94' Ford F-150 with the 300 I-6. I just hate to have to throw this part away since it is brand new and is not exactly cheap. JFYI, the control module is marked with the numbers 0769FO8.

I am using one on my 4.9 off of an 87' escort wagon, I bet if you go to the parts store and have them look up the one for the ranger and the one for you truck the same number will pop up.

Ford Ignition Module Interchangability
If it plugs in, it will work. The module doesn't know how many cylinders the engine is. It just makes the coil fire when the pickup in the distributor tells it too.

Ford Ignition Module Interchangability
So I take it there aren't upgrades or beter/worse versions of this made by Ford or any other manufacturer? I know Mopar's old module's could be upgraded with better ones made straight from Mopar.
